With two recent European International Volleyball events gone and two still to go, not to mention the British Triathlon at Rother Valley and World Goalball Championships to come this month, the Major Events calendar for our SAYLs Young Leaders looks extremely full!
New faces have been floating around lately with Leon of Sheffield College and Robbie of Sheffield Hallam University doing fantastic jobs at the recent GB Women’s Volleyball event at Ponds Forge.
One Young Leader was quoted as saying:
'From being accepted to join SAYLs until now I haven't stopped learning new things; be it ways to teach and coach, to deal with situations, and to conduct myself with different groups of people. The courses I have been on have taught me things to both pass on to others through sport and to change my personal attitudes as a student and a sports person. I have seen how sport can give people a time to relax and socialise, and seen how it can be the area people really focus hard and strive for excellence. There is something special about volunteering your time and knowing you are making a difference to people and providing them with a chance to enjoy themselves. SAYLs has changed me as a person, and I’m sure it has helped everyone we've worked with.' Adam - Bronze Young Leader.
Good luck with exams everyone, and if you need a revision break... you know where to look!
