Sheffield Academy of Young Leaders

A big well done to everyone that attended the update morning at Sheffield Hallam University and for braving the blustery winds.  The day was soon to become rather interesting with some young leaders displaying some hidden talents!

The day proved to be a very effective team builder.  As the groups got to know their team leaders, effective work relationship shone through.  A number of tasks were set in which the groups had to complete in 3 hours to score as many points as possible; from recreating the Haribo advert to breaking out into a glee song.  The members of staff who were there were constantly kept entertained with the recreations, especially from Frankie’s group with their famous scene off Finding Nemo.  It was almost as good as the original version.

The scrabble competition provided a 3 way tie, with the dictionary coming out on quite a few occasions due to some interesting words!  SAYLs have also by the looks of things got some upcoming Britain’s next top models judging on the fashion show.  Some leaders looked really confident strutting their stuff!

Throughout the day it was clear to see the fun and enjoyment that SAYLs brings to the Young Leaders.  New friendships were formed that can only make SAYLs even bigger and better.  Make sure you keep volunteering at put those hours in and you will reap the rewards that will come your way.
