Sheffield Academy of Young Leaders

SAYLs Young Leader Jake is part of a music group from Sheffield that has won a prestigious Erica Award.  The award recognises groups that have made a huge difference to people with learning disabilities and autism.

Jake, along with the rest of the Reach for the Stars group set up monthly nights out with a music talent competition theme, named Star Factor.  The group came up with the idea in response for a need for more fun and safe nights out.  Jake helped to organised and judge the competition / auditions.  This project has made a huge impact on the lives of many people as it has helped to bring different parts of society together to have a good time.
